Accessibility Services
Universal Orlando has implemented several measures to assist guests with disabilities:
IBCCES Accessibility Card (IAC): As of July 24, 2023, Universal Orlando utilizes the IAC to streamline the accommodation process for guests with disabilities. Guests are encouraged to register for the IAC at least 48 hours before their visit by visiting AccessibilityCard.org. This card helps guests access necessary accommodations throughout the resort.
Attraction Assistance Pass (AAP): The AAP provides an alternative to waiting in standard lines for guests who cannot do so due to a disability. With the AAP, guests receive a return time for attractions, allowing them to enjoy other areas of the park while waiting. This system is designed to offer flexibility and comfort.
Wheelchair and ECV Rentals: Manual wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) are available for rent at the entrance of each theme park and at the main parking facility. This service ensures mobility assistance is readily accessible.
Accessible Attractions: Many attractions are designed to accommodate guests with mobility devices. Universal provides a Guide for Rider Safety and Accessibility detailing specific requirements and accommodations for each ride. This guide helps guests plan their visit according to their needs.
Assistive Listening Devices and Captioning: Assistive listening devices are available at select attractions, and reflective captioning is offered at certain shows. These services enhance the experience for guests with hearing impairments.
Family Services
Families visiting Universal Orlando can take advantage of various services designed to make their experience more convenient:
Family Services Centers: Located within each park, these centers offer private nursing areas, changing tables, and a comfortable space for families to rest. They provide a quiet retreat for parents and young children.
Stroller Rentals: Single and double strollers are available for rent near the park entrances. This service is convenient for families with young children who may need assistance navigating the parks.
Child Swap Program: For attractions with height or age restrictions, Universal offers a Child Swap program. This allows one adult to wait with the child while the other experiences the ride, then they swap without waiting in line again. It's an efficient way for parents to enjoy attractions without leaving their children unattended.
Quiet Rooms: Universal provides designated quiet rooms for guests who may need a calm environment. These rooms are equipped with dimmable lights and sensory-friendly toys, offering a respite from the park's stimulation.
Additional Tips
Pre-Visit Planning: Guests with specific needs are encouraged to contact Guest Services before their visit to discuss accommodations and services available. This proactive approach ensures a smoother experience upon arrival.
Dietary Accommodations: Universal's dining establishments offer options for guests with dietary restrictions. It's advisable to speak with a chef or manager at the restaurant to discuss specific needs.
By offering these comprehensive services, Universal Orlando Resort demonstrates its commitment to inclusivity and family-friendly experiences, ensuring all guests can enjoy the magic and excitement the parks have to offer.
